In most cases, no. Most states allows for "Direct Access," meaning you can come directly to a physical therapist for an evaluation and treatment without seeing a doctor first. This gets you on the road to recovery faster. However, if you are using insurance there are some specific plans that do have requirements regarding signatures or referrals. If your insurance has specific requirements, we will let you know before your first visit. (Medicare does NOT require a referral to get started with therapy).
During your first visit, you'll undergo a comprehensive evaluation. We'll discuss your medical history, assess your current condition, and perform a physical examination. This helps us understand your specific needs and goals. Based on this information, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique situation. You'll also have the opportunity to ask any questions and discuss any concerns you might have about your treatment.
Yes. When appropriate, we use manual therapy techniques like joint mobilization, soft-tissue work, dry needling, and directional loading strategies. These help decrease pain quickly so you can move more easily and progress into strengthening.

Yes. One of our main goals is education. You’ll understand exactly what is causing your pain, why it’s happening, and how to fix it. Knowing the root cause reduces fear and speeds up recovery.
If pain limits your workouts, daily activities, sleep, or quality of life—even slightly—PT is the right next step. A short evaluation can determine exactly what’s going on and what your fastest path forward looks like.
Workers’ compensation covers medical care when you’re injured on the job. Physical therapy helps you recover faster, reduce pain, restore mobility and strength, and safely return to work. We coordinate with your adjuster, physician, and employer to make the process smooth and stress-free.
We treat back and neck injuries, sprains and strains, shoulder injuries, knee pain, repetitive strain injuries, lifting injuries, slip-and-fall injuries, tendon and muscle injuries, nerve irritation, and post-surgical rehab for work-related procedures.
Yes—most workers’ comp plans require authorization from your adjuster or physician before starting treatment. We handle this for you and communicate directly with the adjuster to ensure everything is approved correctly.
As soon as your claim is open and approved. Early treatment reduces pain faster, restores mobility, and prevents long-term limitations—especially for back, neck, and shoulder injuries common in workplace accidents.
Yes. If your injury is work-related and approved by your adjuster, workers’ compensation typically pays 100% of authorized physical therapy. There is no out-of-pocket cost to you.
Most states require you to be evaluated by a workers’ comp physician or an approved provider before starting PT. After that, PT is usually authorized based on the doctor’s recommendation.
In many cases, yes. Injured workers often have the right to choose their PT provider as long as the clinic is approved by the adjuster. If you’re unsure, we can help verify that for you.
Yes. We send progress notes, updates, and return-to-work recommendations directly to your adjuster and physician. This ensures everyone stays aligned and helps your claim move smoothly.
Often, yes. Many work-related injuries get better with targeted PT, reducing the need for injections or surgery. Early treatment also lowers the risk of chronic pain or long-term functional limitations.
Ignoring a work injury can lead to chronic pain, decreased function, difficulty performing job tasks, and potential long-term disability. Early PT helps protect your health, mobility, and ability to work safely.
